CastoMag 45751 is recommended for a wide range of applications, including: rebuilding and wearfacing of turbine blades, ship’s propellers, pump bodies and impellers, heat exchangers, condensers, desalination plants, steelmaking extension couplings, and valve seats and slides.
Preparation
For best results, remove contamination, cracks and worn metal from the weld area. Chamfer joints to a V, U or X profile, according to thickness.
Preheating
No preheating is required when welding cupro-aluminium parts with a thickness of 6 mm or less. For thicker parts, preheating to 150-300°C is recommended.
Welding
Current: = (+) [inverse polarity] Possible welding modes: Short-circuit metal transfer, axialspray metal transfer, pulsed-arc metal transfer.
Machining
CastoMag 45751 deposits can be machined with normal cutting tools and can be cut using plasma cutting processes.
